Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

When Jane (Gina Bellman), in her role as a radio weather girl, gets fired for instructing London's drivers to close their eyes and meditate, she grows despondent. But a strange new character helps her out of her funk: a pink hand puppet in the shape of a snake, through whom Jane is able to speak her mind wholly and unabashedly. As Jane, via the puppet, manages to insult most of her friends -- and Jeremy (Shaughan Seymour), her former boss -- she decides to launch a career as a children's entertainer. Unfortunately, the puppet's inability to tell anything but the truth puts a damper on her showbiz aspirations. Meanwhile, Patrick (Ben Miles) attempts to arrange a threesome with his latest girlfriend, Lynda (Susan Earl), but he doesn't get the kind of liaison he was expecting. Originally broadcast October 1, 2001, on BBC2, "Jane and the Truth Snake" marked season two, episode five of the hit Britcom.
