The popular British stage melodrama Jack Tar was given a full-blooded cinematic treatment in 1915. Jack Tessier plays an upstanding naval lieutenant who has been falsely accused of espionage. Coming to Tessier's rescue is his sweetheart Edith Yates. She poses as an exotic Turkish lady in order to infiltrate a German spy ring. Rowland Talbot adapted Jack Tar from the original text by Arthur Shirley and Ben Landeck.
