Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This drama was Gladys Leslie's second starring vehicle for Thanhouser. Adele (Leslie) has grown up in a tenement, but she longs for greater things. She gets her chance at the stage when her mother (Carey Hastings) runs into an old friend, Blanche (Peggy Burke). Blanche has been working steadily in the theater, and she helps Adele get work. The young girl finds romance with Vincent Harvey, an aspiring composer (Charlie Emerson). One day Adele suffers an accidental fall out of a window. John Horton (Wayne Arey) comes to her aid, but she's not badly hurt. As a publicity stunt, Blanche claims it was a suicide attempt, and Adele becomes famous. When Harvey finishes his opera, she convinces Horton to produce it. It's a huge success, which makes Harvey even more focused on his career. Mary (Clarine Seymour), the ward of Harvey's uncle, goes to Adele and warns her that if she marries him she will have to take second place to his composing. Adele shrugs this off until her home catches fire, and Harvey saves his latest opera instead of her.
