A 1939 novel by Katharine Susannah Prichard was the source for this two-part Australian miniseries. Kit Taylor and Carmen Duncan headed the cast as young marrieds Greg and Elodie. Barely acquainted when they marched down the aisle, the couple soon realized that they had next to nothing in common. The next inevitable step was infidelity, with both Greg and Elodie seeking carnal knowledge of their closest friends. Intimate Strangers was first broadcast in 1981.
