Part of the long-running British mystery series based on the stories by Colin Dexter, Inspector Morse: Ghost in the Machine first aired in the U.K. in 1989. Inspector Morse (John Thaw) and Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately) investigate the burglary of some valuable erotic artwork. The owner is educational leadership candidate Sir Julius Hanbury (Michael Godley), who turns up dead right before the election. Pathologist Dr. Grayling Russell (Amanda Hillwood making her first series appearance) believes it to be suicide, but Morse thinks otherwise.
