Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This drama was Margaret Illington's second starring vehicle for producer Jesse Lasky. The wealthy Diane Winthrop (Illington) is the ward of explorer Derek Pruyn (Hobart Bosworth). Pruyn is in love with Diane, but before he can gather up the nerve to propose, the Viscount D'Arcourt (Jack Holt) asks for her hand. The couple quickly weds, settling in Paris. The Viscount has a very European idea of marriage and Diane is upset to discover he has a mistress. To retaliate, she carries on a flirtation with the Marquis the Bienville (Elliot Dexter). When the Marquis discovers that Diane is not serious, he vindictively tries to compromise her, causing the Viscount to challenge him to a duel. The Viscount, who has gone broke, decides to use the duel to commit suicide, and the Marquis flees. He travels to South America where he finds Pruyn, who is on an expedition, but has been abandoned in the jungle by his servants. The Marquis rescues Pruyn and brings him to Diane. At last Pruyn and Diane are united.
