Synopsis by Mark Deming

Ian Hunter first rose to fame as the leader of one of the greatest British rock bands of the 1970s, Mott the Hoople, and as a solo artist, Hunter has continued to make fine records and write songs that reveal a heart, soul, and humanity that sets him apart nearly anyone else in music. Ian Hunter: Strings Attached -- A Very Special Night With Ian Hunter is a concert video recorded during a unique performance in Oslo in which Hunter and his band were joined by a 17-piece string section for a set that spans his days with Mott as well as his solo career. Songs include "All the Way From Memphis," "All the Young Dudes," "Irene Wilde," "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," "Ships," "I Wish I Was Your Mother," and many more.
