When Olive Oyl coldly informs him that she doesn't love him anymore, Popeye tries to win her back by pretending to be seriously ill. In a panic, Olive rushes Popeye to the hospital (but not before breaking the "fourth wall" and asking the movie audience if there's a doctor in the house), where the puckish sailor manages to convince the entire medical staff that he's at death's door. The rhythmic mumblings of the bearded doctors and the ambulance attendants are unforgettable, as is the now-classic gag in which Popeye is given an X-Ray exam.
