Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The tiny but voluptuous chassis of Clara Bow is given ample display in the exotic romance Hula. The story takes place in Hawaii, where pampered plantation-owner's daughter Hula Calhoun (Bow) occasionally takes a skinny-dip in the river. On one such occasion, Hula is obliged to save the life of Anthony Haldane (Clive Brook), who jumped into the water in an effort to rescue her pet dog. Since Anthony is the first handsome man she has ever seen close-up, our heroine instantly falls in love with him. Alas, the gentleman already has a wife back in England, a contentious sort who is disinclined to give him a divorce. In a surprise, development, Mrs. Haldane (Maude Truax) suddenly shows up in Hawaii, demanding her freedom from Anthony -- just in time for the final fade-out clinch.
