synopsis
Created and hosted by Jack Hargreaves, the British children's series How answered its own question on a daily, 25-minute basis beginning in 1966. Each episode demonstrated how things worked, how they were built, and how they came to be (for example, one program showed how to get a ship in a bottle). Whenever a new topic was introduced, the kids at home heard the disembodied voice of a Native American shouting "How?" Originally telecast on the Southern Television service, How toted up a total of 500 episodes. The property was briefly revived in 1990 as How2, with series regular Frank Dineage the sole carryover from the earlier series.
