The Japanese title Hotaru may translate to Firefly, but this film has nothing to do with lightning bugs. Rather, it is a gangster picture, with a particularly disreputable protagonist. The "firefly" is a crooked nightclub owner, who lures the unwary into his establishment, then robs them. When the cops come calling, our anti-hero hides out with an ex-girlfriend. This time, however, it is the firefly himself who gets burned.
