Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Dorothy Gish and Richard Barthelmess are paired once again in this poignant but not overly serious drama. Gish plays Sheila Moore, who looks for work after her father (George Fawcett), a vaudeville actor, finds himself broke and unemployed. After an unsuccessful attempt at a vaudeville audition herself, she winds up as a waitress in a candy store run by Thomas Ballantyne (Sam De Grasse). The boss's son, Tom, Jr. (Barthelmess) is attracted to her, and eventually she responds to his advances and marries him. Tom's parents blow their stacks, and Sheila angrily stalks home to her dad. Tom walks in on Sheila just as his friend (Bertram Grassby) is making a pass at her. This brings things to a head and she gives Tom -- and everyone in his family -- a piece of her mind. Her spunk makes Tom come around.
