Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Mary Blake, a struggling young actress (Violet Mersereau), heads for Broadway at the behest of manager Richard Kearney (James O' Neill). Kearney has ulterior motives, but Mary repels his advances. His next step is to propose marriage. Mary's friend Flossie (Tina Marshall) suggests that it might help her career, so Mary accepts. But immediately after the wedding she discovers that Kearney already has a wife, so she leaves and goes back to her old repertoire company. The troupe lands in the small-minded small town of Hillsdale, where Mary meets and marries Kirk Hardy (Sidney Mason). Kirk's mother won't warm up to the girl, and when Kearney tracks her down, Kirk believes his lies. A fight breaks out between the two men and Kearney is wounded. Kirk is arrested, but luckily, Kearney survives. Finally Mary and Kirk are brought back together by an understanding minister, who also inspires Kirk's mother to be more charitable.
