Synopsis by Janiss Garza

All the boys are in love with Nell Fanshawe (Vivian Martin), but the one she likes best is John Stanley (Ralph Graves). John, however, is a mere soda jerk, so they can't be married. To rectify this, John leaves the New England town where he and Nell reside and heads for the big city to make good. He gets a job with Jellaby and Company, an antique firm. But Steve Ratling (Stanhope Wheatcroft), a jealous ex-employee, gets John into a poker game where he loses company money. Overcome with guilt, he disappears, leaving only a note saying that he will make good the loss. When Nell stops receiving letters from John, she goes looking for him and winds up working for Jellaby herself. The boss (Herbert Standing) tells her what little he knows of John's situation. But Nell has a fair idea of where he's gone, and she's right -- he's working behind the fountain at a drug store. She convinces him to go back to Mr. Jellaby and deal with the situation. He does, and the understanding boss gives him his job back. With this, Nell and John are reunited for good. This wasn't the most exciting or original story Paramount ever put out, but its homey feel was appealing to moviegoers of this less-complicated era.
