Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

A Hollywood muckraker is blackmailed by a corrupt city boss in this low-budget action melodrama starring Frank Merrill. Refusing to support Hymie Durning's (Jack Richardson) election campaign, Basil Manning (Charles K. French) of the Hollywood Morning Express find himself threatened with exposure. Manning, it turns out, served time in the state penitentiary and is thus ripe for a blackmailer like Durning. Happily, to the rescue comes Billy Hudson, the "Hollywood reporter" and the boyfriend of Manning's daughter Lois (Peggy Montgomery). By chance, Billy and his photographer Dell (William Hayes) learn that Hymie is operating a gambling den in his home, and the crook's entire house of cards soon comes tumbling down. When Billy also tracks down the man who framed Manning many years before, the latter gratefully accepts him as his son-in-law.
