Synopsis by Hal Erickson

To prove that he can be just as "romantical" as the next guy, Popeye phones his sweetie Olive and recites some of his own poetry. Olive is captivated by her boyfriend's lilting (if somewhat clumsy) verse--at least until Bluto taps into her phone wire and, imitating Popeye, begins insulting her in rhyme. When he finds out that he is being sabotaged, Popeye climbs a telephone pole and dukes it out with Bluto while both men are precariously balanced on some very thin wires. Despite the danger, Popeye has plenty of time for his patented under-the-breath adlibs--and even sings his own peculiar version of "Did You Ever See a Dream Walking".
