Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

In the 13th century B.C., there was an Egyptian king whose accomplishments still loom large today. Ramses became pharaoh at the age of 25, and ruled for the next 67 years. Today, he is remembered best for the architectural achievements of his dynasty. This documentary goes on location to Egypt to view some of these monumental structures. The program also examines other accomplishments of Ramses the Great, who made peace with the warring Hittites and encouraged the cultivation of the arts. Film footage, photographs, art works, and historic accounts are used to tell the story of the great pharaoh.
