PBS home video captures the amazing adventure of Hillary and Tenzing as they become the first men to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. Their story is told through historical footage, interviews, and dramatic re-enactments. The viewer witnesses the dramatic and couragious expedition of these adventurous explorers. It is an amazing story of bravery and human sacrifice to realize a previously unatainable goal. The viewer gets a first account of their perilous journey to the top of the world as they fight fatigue, freezing temperatures, and oxygen depravation. The video looks into the lives of the men who would brave such conditions and seek out such dangerous adventure.
