Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
American President Franklin D. Roosevelt's highly constructive terms in office continue to provide a touchstone for many leaders who strive to demonstrate effective diplomatic skills abroad while creating helpful governmental programs at home. This documentary reviews Roosevelt's singular political career that allowed him to become the only president to serve for more than two terms. His creativity and ability to surround himself with talented advisors helped Roosevelt lead America through the Great Depression and the highly demanding years when so many young Americans had to go abroad to fight in World War II. His strong working relationship and friendship with England's Prime Minister Winston Churchill is also documented.
