Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Her Own Way was adapted from a stage play by that theatrical workhorse Clyde Fitch. Florence Reed was starred in the central role of Georgiana Carley. The heroine begins the picture pledging eternal devotion to her soldier sweetheart. But in his absence, she very nearly marries Mr. Coast a flint-hearted stockbroker who has a financial hold over her family. Fortunately, Georgiana is able to wriggle out of this promise by proving that Coast is a no-good scoundrel who has squandered his customers' savings on a series of crooked business deals. Thus, when Soldier Boy comes marching home from the Philippines, Georgiana is waiting for him. The reviewer for the trade magazine Variety seemed less interested in the film than in actress Florence Reed's brand-new hairstyle.
