Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Having parlayed her involvement in a major murder scandal of the early 20th century into a substantial show-business career, former model and chorus girl Evelyn Nesbit proved to be a competent actress in her handful of starring films. In Her Mistake, Nesbit once more essays the semi-autobiographical role of a young woman who gets mixed up in a extramarital affair. This time, she plays the wife of a wealthy rake who callously rekindles an affair with his ex-sweetheart. To spare the feelings of her rival's husband -- who happens to be one of her former suitors -- Nesbit does her best to keep her own husband's peccadilloes a secret from the world. But in trying to cover up the indiscretions of others, the heroine succeeds only in wrecking her own happiness. Russell Thaw, Evelyn Nesbit's son from her marriage to New York socialite Harry K. Thaw, appeared in a supporting role.
