Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Florence Reed and her co-star, the handsome Conway Tearle, are helpless in the face of a contrived, clichéd plot in this routine drama. Tearle's fine performance in a dual role, especially, is wasted. Carol Raymond (Reed) comes from an aristocratic Southern family that has fallen on hard financial times, and she travels to New York to save the family fortune in the stock market. The Raymonds' finances are being destroyed by one man (Tearle), and she uses her charm and cunning to win him over. In fact, she winds up marrying him. But before the couple can settle into their happiness, there are a number of suspicious and strange goings-on that mystify Carol. Her husband at times seems to be two different people. Eventually she discovers that he is two different people -- he has a disinherited twin brother, who was the one causing all the trouble in the first place. The evil brother's wrongdoings are set right, and Carol saves her family's finances.
