Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Director Jaswant Dev Shrestha's documentary Heavenly Place Manag depicts a young man's voyage to the region of Manang, long regarded as one of the most remote and inaccessible locales in the country of Nepal. As the film unfurls, the journeyman at its center plunges into numerous sociological aspects of life in the Manang region, including the local educational systems, the Buddhist religion, cultural festivals such as the Yarthum horse racing festival and the Metha archery festival, and the geography. On that note, the film incorporates trips to such picturesque and rarely-seen venues as Lake Tilicho and the Throng La Pass.
