A middle-aged man who lost his wife to cancer forges a father/son-type relationship with a 30-something security guard feeling trapped by impending fatherhood, and together they work to turn their lives around for the better. When Manny lost his wife to cancer, his career in real estate deteriorated along with his mental health. As a result, he grew distant from his two children, and developed a quick temper that landed him in trouble with the authorities. Meanwhile, troubled father-to-be JP works as a security guard at a successful investment bank, and longs to cut free from his working class roots. When the two men meet during a particularly precarious moment in both of their lives, their emerging friendship offers precisely the kind of support they both need to face their fears, and forge ahead into the future.
