Identical twin sisters Erica and Heather (both played by Kim Raver find their relationship shattered Heather's son David perishes in a tragic accident. Meanwhile, Erica's daughter Sarah claims that she is still in contact with David, driving his devastated mother to try and reach out to her son through her niece. Later, when Erica gets pregnant, it begins to appear as if David may use her unborn child as a vessel to return to the physical realm.
