One of the most popular segments of the MSNBC political-discussion series Hardball was presented during the 2000 Presidential campaign under the subtitle College Tour. In this segment, series host Chris Matthews interviewed political figures, celebrities, and students to get their opinions on the unfolding events surrounding what would become one of the most hotly contested elections in presidential history. Hardball College Tour was revived by MSNBC as a separate half-hour series on September 18, 2002, just in time for the off-year elections which would determine control of the House and Senate. Once again, Chris Matthews served as host.
