Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The nomadic Kurdish people were in the habit of migrating through the countries of the Middle East, particularly Iran and Iraq. When the idea of firm national borders took root earlier in this century, groups of Kurds were stranded as minority populations in many nations. Their religion is not, strictly speaking, Muslim - neither is it Christian. As a consequence, in addition to their tribal outsider status, they bear the extra onus of following a "heretical" religion in the midst of a Muslim minority. This action thriller concerns the attempt of two Kurds to seek political asylum in Turkey, which is not officially a Muslim country. When one of them is refused asylum, they both escape to join the political underground, pursued by men from the security forces of all the nations concerned with Kurdish affairs.
