Vice Foreign Minister Darlian returns to space in the company of his daughter and Lady Une, Colonel Treize's loyal subordinate. Darlian is there to discuss the tensions between the colonies and Earth, and to hopefully shed light on Operation Meteor. However, Une blows up the room where the ambassadors are meeting, and she sends her men after Relena, the only witness to the act, but Relena and her dying father are whisked away by rebel colonists. Before he dies, Darlian tells Relena that her real name is Relena Peacecraft; he had worked as a senator for the Peacecraft kingdom, but got her out in secret before the Alliance crushed them. Before she is returned to Earth, Relena meets the mysterious Dr. J, the man who sent Heero to Earth. He reveals that Heero was named after the colonies' most revered leader, whose assassination at the hands of OZ touched off the current situation. The younger Heero has been trained all his life in combat and strategy, specifically to bring down OZ. Dr. J warns her that if she values her life, she'd best keep away from Heero.
