Quatre, sick with grief at the murder of his father, has built a new Gundam and attacks an OZ satellite. On the Barge colony, Tubarov expresses his discomfort with the way Lady Une is using the three captured Gundam pilots as test pilots for the new OZ mobile suits. Lady Une dismisses his fears, saying that the pilots are too talented to go to waste, and the changing political situation makes it easier to keep an eye on them. However, she is unaware that Trowa, a fourth pilot, is right under her nose posing as an OZ soldier -- or is she? When word comes of Quatre's attack, Lady Une orders the launch of the new Mercurius and Vayeate mobile suits, over Tubarov's objections. The captive Gundam engineers receive word from Trowa that a new Gundam has destroyed the satellite, and the scientists fret over someone actually using the full destructive power of a suit they'd designed but never built. "He's doing something even we hesitated to do," says Dr. J, "A couple of colonies are gonna disappear."
