This video is part three of a four-volume series that introduces the viewer to the art of Spanish guitar as it evolved over the centuries, from the 1500s to the present. Julian Bream, internationally acclaimed guitarist, performs works from the various styles that evolved from the Spanish violin. In this volume, he presents works at the height of the Romantic period in Spanish music, with its emphasis on the beauty of nature and common people, the democratic ideal, and nationalistic fervor. One can hear it all in the enchanting music performed by Bream, set against Spanish landscapes and architecture.
