Synopsis by Tracie Cooper
Directed and produced by Mike Woolf, Growin' a Beard is a documentary short centered on a little-known tradition of Shamrock, TX. Each year, the men of Shamrock grow beards from New Year's Day until St. Patricks Day, when they compete in the Donegal Beard Growing Contest. The film follows the trials and tribulations of the local competitors from the first signs stubble all the way to judgment day, as well as those of a hairy newcomer from another town.
