Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Director and writer Joergen Roos compiled this documentary on Greenland from clips of his own many documentaries on the region, old newsreel sequences, segments from movies that involved Greenland (such as S.O.S. Iceberg), and several other sources. The documentary begins with the history of the Inuits who were the first settlers in Greenland, examines the many explorers that visited the ice-locked region, and illustrates the exploration and the culture with interviews and sequences of local activities that cap a careful and engaging look at an area that is still quite remote from most of the world.
