Synopsis by Michael Hastings
Popular singers Carmen Sevilla and Pedro Infante star in this Mexican production, a perennial favorite on Spanish-language television. Gitana Tenías Que Ser concerns the oil-and-water meeting between Pastora (Sevilla), a famous Spanish crooner who's been recruited to perform opposite the mariachi Pablo (Infante) in a film shooting in Mexico. From the beginning, they're at each other's throats, but this initial disdain melts into true love -- provided that the paparazzi don't break them up.
