Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Texas oilman Geoffrey Hampden (Alfred Whitman) lives in New York with his sister, who commits suicide when she is betrayed by Philip Armond (Edward Alexander). Hampden attacks Alexander and is thrown in prison because he refuses to explain his motives (his sister asked him to keep her betrayal a secret). Many years later, Hampden, now going by the name George Hammond, is working in the oil fields with his partner, Dick Stewart (Bob Burns). He marries Stewart's sister Cynthia (Nell Shipman), in name only, when Stewart is murdered by enemies. She goes to New York and meets Armond. Since Hampden/Hammond has offered to give her a divorce if she finds someone else she wants to marry, she brings Armond home to Hammond. Hammond recognizes him and hands him a revolver. Shots are fired and Armond is killed. After that, Cynthia decides she prefers Hammond. This subpar programmer came from the Vitagraph Studios.
