The relationship between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) may be strained by the return of Luke's famously fickle former girlfriend, Rachel (Lisa Ann Hadley). Elsewhere, Lorelai's mother, Emily (Kelly Bishop), tries to play matchmaker with embarrassing results -- and an unexpected gesture of sympathy from Emily's husband Richard (Edward Herrmann). And Dean (Jared Padalecki) gives Rory (Alexis Bledel) a very special present on the occasion of their three-month anniversary...but is Rory willing to make a firm commitment?
