Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The arrival of an outsider (Khosrow Shojadadeh) into a closed community is the theme of this Iranian movie. A boat containing a wounded, nearly delirious man drifts into the village. He cannot remember precisely what happened to him, but believes he was in some kind of fight. The villagers take him in and tend his wounds until he is healed. Conflicts arise when he begins to pay court to a widow whose husband was lost at sea; the woman's brothers do not favor the liaison. He manages to win her hand, but trouble comes after the wedding as men from his past come hunting him. With the villagers' help he is able to fend them off, but he leaves the village, thinking it best for all concerned.
