This 1998 13-episode OVA is a latter-day addition to the Getter Robo franchise which had its birth in the '70s. The Getter Robo were created to protect Earth from all those who would threaten it and took shape by combining many smaller vehicles to form one massive humanoid robot. The power of the Getter Robo was so great, however, that out of fear, humans eventually destroyed them and killed their creator, despite the fleet of robots having done nothing but good for the human race. Years have passed now, and that fear appears to have been worse than misplaced as a new threat is now emerging, and the only force that could have defended the planet was the Getter Robo. Is there no hope for the citizens of Earth? Will everyone on the planet become a victim of the paranoia that moved them to destroy their only savior, or is there a twinkling of hope that the Getter Robo can be brought back?
