Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British Saturday-morning children's show Get Fresh was ostensibly set inside a UFO, piloted by a puppet named Gilbert the Alien. On each episode, Gilbert and his human friends whisked the viewers off to a different city or village in the United Kingdom, where the local customs and traditions would be analyzed in depth. It was a pleasant way to teach British youngsters about their country -- and for those not interested in geography, the theme music was provided by Mick Jones of the Clash. Get Fresh aired over the ITV service in 1988.
