Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Richard Ely guest stars as Pvt. George Weston, a courageous, highly decorated soldier who happens to be a homosexual. Upon learning of Weston's persuasion, an apoplectic Frank Burns (Larry Linville) tries to have the hapless private dishonorably discharged. As usual, however, Hawkeye (Alan Alda) comes to the rescue by making Frank look twice as foolish as usual -- no mean feat, admittedly. Still another instance of the TV M*A*S*H outdistancing the movie version in terms of compassion and sensitivity, "George" originally aired on February 16, 1974.
