The government's first TA test using chemical compounds of their own design is failing horribly; the pilots are having seizures and becoming dangerously erratic. Despite the crew's best efforts, three of the TA pilots die and the sole survivor, Major Taniguchi, hurriedly leaves the test grounds in his TA with no explanation. The Experimentation Company, called in to find the Major, aren't happy to hear the news. They wonder why they were kept in the dark about a separate TA development program, especially since the government's TAs seem to be able to run much longer, though at considerable risk to the pilots. When the Experimentation Company pilots find Taniguchi, they are quickly put on the defensive. Meanwhile, Yushiro and Miharu are making their way to Watanabe as best as they can, despite an SSDF helicopter sweeping the area in pursuit. Captain Akata and Misuzu eventually manage to find them, but the four are soon captured by SSDF Special Forces. (American release in 2001.)
