Günter Wand enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a conductor, including stints as director of the London Symphony Orchestra, the Saltzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, the Berne Symphony Orchestra, and the Cologne Opera. Gunter Wand: My Life, My Music is a documentary created in the latter years of Wand's life in which he looks back on his career (in what is believed to been his final interview) and is seen in rehearsal working with his orchestra on performances of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 and Brahms's Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 2.
