Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur

In association with the New York Times and the CBC, Frontline investigates the issue of worker's safety requirements within the iron foundry industry in the documentary A Dangerous Business. Founded in Birmingham, Alabama, the McWane corporation has made a lot of profit at the cost of workers' safety. Out of the nearly 5,000 workers who have been injured at McWane plants, this program profiles the stories of seven employees. Also includes an OSHA inspection report and other government documents, including McWane's official memo to the New York State attorney general's office. Frontline: A Dangerous Business first aired on PBS in January of 2003.
