Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Though filmed in black and white on a wafer-thin budget, Fortress of the Dead is a most worthwhile psychological drama. John Hackett plays an World War 2 veteran who fought at Corregidor back in '42. Twenty years later, he makes a return visit to the Pacific island. But this isn't a sentimental journey: Hackett is forced to relive a harrowing wartime incident that has haunted him for two decades. Conrad Parham and Ana Corita costar in this location-filmed mood piece.
