Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Although a period film, with picturesque fiestas and scenes of 1840s southern California, this romance was still nothing more than a program picture. It stars Elliott Sparling in a not terribly auspicious motion picture debut. Terry O'Neill, a handsome young sea captain (Sparling) arrives in southern California and immediately falls in love with Maria Almada (Barbara Bedford), the pretty daughter of Don Almada (Noah Beery). Maria already has a Spanish suitor, who jealously sends his henchmen after O'Neill, but they fail miserably in their mission. During the next fiesta, O'Neill discretely masquerades as Maria's future husband. When he is unmasked, he creates quite a stir, but escapes unharmed. O'Neill gets involved in the robbery of some pearls from a Madonna statue, and wins Maria's heart by helping to capture the thief.
