For Kids Only was the catchall title bestowed by the CBC on this weekday-afternoon collection of Canadian children's programs. Telecast in a late-afternoon slot, the series offered Catch Up on Mondays, Pencil Box on Tuesdays, a "magazine"-style show on Wednesdays, What's New on Thursdays, and a Friday-afternoon package of specials created by kids for kids, in much the same manner as the American series The Big Blue Marble. The program was shown in this omnibus fashion from September 11 to December 20, 1978. When For Kids Only returned for a final weekly run from May 31 to September 6, 1979, only the Wednesday "magazine" show was retained.
