Synopsis by Janiss Garza

When Joan Thursday (Naomi Childers) is released from her position at a department store, she decides to try for a career on the stage. This does not please her lazy drunk of a father (William Shea), who throws her out of the house. Aspiring playwright John Matthais (Marc MacDermott) lets her spend the night in his room at a theatrical boarding house, while he finds lodgings elsewhere. Matthais is in love with heiress Venetia Tankerville, but she elopes with Marbridge, a fellow wealthy but dissolute soul. When he returns from his honeymoon, Marbridge is taken with Joan's beauty and casts her in a play he is backing. This enrages his mistress Nella, who is already upset at his elopement, and she shoots him. In the midst of all this drama, Matthais finally realizes he loves Joan and they end up together.
