Poverty Row studio FBO's popular boy rider Buzz Barton, as Red Hepner, and his sidekick Sidewinder Steve (Milburn Morante) go in search of an outlaw in this streamlined silent Western produced mainly for the kiddies. The two friends arrive in the town of Shady Bend where blacksmith Tom Reynolds (Edmund Cobb) and poolroom proprietor Jim Dalton (Edward Hearn) are rivals for the affection of the sheriff's pretty daughter, Jane (Duane Thompson). Dalton is in reality the wanted bandit, but an attempt to frame Tom in a bank robbery leads to his arrest by Red and Sidewinder. Earning the $1,000 reward, the two friends immediately hand over the money to Tom and Jane as a wedding present.
