Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
A student's attempt to organize a coup to overthrow the Venezuelan dictatorship of Juan Vincente Gómez is the subject of this drama, set in 1928. After the failure of his efforts, the young man briefly joins a guerilla group which proves as brutal and crude as the dictator's own rule. Upon leaving that group, he is imprisoned by the government. Though he dies in prison, he has been true to his ideals and has served to inspire and sustain his friends and comrades.
