Synopsis by Mark Deming
Love forces two women to re-examine their lives in this powerful drama. Meihua (Youxin Yang) is an artist who has left her home in China's southern provinces to study her craft in Paris. Meihua soon makes the acquaintance of Stephanie (Sabine Bail), a gifted photographer, and the two women become fast friends. In time, their friendship grows into an intense physical attraction, and Meihua and Stephanie are forced to weigh the disapproval of their families, their colleagues, and society at large against the longings they feel in their hearts.
