Although the bridge they were on exploded, Dave (Kirk Alyn) and Laura (Rosemary la Planche) land safely in the river below. Barely stopping to dry out, the heroes steal some native garb, infiltrate the enemy camp, and, at gunpoint, force Nila (Carol Forman) and her lackey, Spade Gordon (Roy Barcroft), to drive them back to Kurigal's Tomb. They arrive just as the treacherous Professor Clayton (James Craven) is replacing Kurigal's stone hands with the solid gold replicas, thus activating the giant statue. A struggle ensues, during which Gordon is accidentally shot and killed by Nila. Victorious, Nila claims Kurigal's treasure, but the statue suddenly topples over, ending her villainy forever. "But what about Kurigal's ancient treasure?" Laura asks, as Professor Clayton is being handcuffed. "It will be claimed by law and used to benefit humanity," Dave answers.
